Q1 2024 Release Notes

The following is a summary of the key enhancements delivered in the first major release of 2024:

Boards

  • The boards area now differentiates between private or shared boards. Private boards can still be shared with other Verto users. See: How to share a board.
  • There is a new application setting which will allow Verto users to create board templates. The default setting is Administrators only. To switch on this new setting, please contact Verto Support.
  • The Verto search function now includes a search across board cards. See: How to use the search feature
  • VertoSense is now available as a feature in the description field of a card. Please note: These VertoSense links are not designed to be displayed in the Network Map.
  • There is now a comments feature on cards. See: How to add and edit cards
  • Hyperlinks have been made more visible on cards. 

Dashboards

  • There is a new application setting which will restrict Verto users from creating dashboard templates. The default setting is all users can create dashboard templates. To switch on this new setting, please contact Verto Support.
  • There is a new image widget for dashboards, specifically designed for displaying logos, corporate images etc. See: Dashboards
  • The matrix dashboard widget now also includes Issues and Stakeholders, in addition to the Risk matrices. See: Dashboards

Gantt

Sub-Projects

  • Clients using our Sub-Projects feature can now seamlessly move a parent project and any connected sub-projects at the same time. 
  • Individual sub-projects can now be moved to a separate Sub-Project archived/closed stage. 

Timesheets

  • There is a new application setting which will hide all completed/closed projects from the Timesheet recording area. To switch on this new setting, please contact Verto Support.

External Forms

  • Clients using External Forms can now CC in Administrators to the ‘New Project’ email that is sent to the form creator. For more information, please contact Verto Support. 

Performance Planning

  • For clients using the Performance Planning area, the user interface has now been updated to bring this area inline with the wider Verto 365 design. This will be available to new clients as default. Existing clients should contact Verto Support to enable this. See: Performance Planning Spotlight

Monthly Resourcing

  • This new resourcing module introduces the concept of searching for and allocating resources based on a calendar month, rather than hours.  To see a demonstration of this new module, please contact your Client Success Manager. See: Monthly Resourcing Spotlight

Verto Teams Bot

  • The Verto chat bot is now available to all users of the Teams 365 App. The chat bot enables the real-time delivery of Verto notifications in Teams. This first release includes ‘User Added’ and 'Card Comment’ notifications, as well as direct access to the Knowledge Hub. Further notifications and features will be implemented throughout the remainder of this year. See: Teams Bot Spotlight

General

  • Custom prints to Excel and Word will now automatically export as .xlsx and .docx files, respectively.
  • It is now possible to amend the project role of a user without needing to remove and re-add them to the project. Simply click ‘Edit’ to make the change.
  • In the project members table, any users with read only permissions will now have ‘(Read Only)’ displayed next to them.
  • There is a new application setting for one-to-many tables such as Costs and Savings, which when applied, will change the ‘Period’ field to display a financial year rather than the calendar month and year. To enable this feature, please contact Verto Support.
  • ‘Help’ against fields and features is now signified using a question mark icon instead of an information icon. See: Administrators - How to add help
  • The Stages flyout has been enhanced as follows:
    • There is a new metric tile which will display the total number of projects when the overall status field is not in the build. 
    • There is now a total number of projects figure i.e. (24), displayed at the end of the stage name.
    • All archived projects have been removed from the metric tile figures.
