How to create or view a hierarchy

Create a hierarchy

Go to the project that you want to create a hierarchy for and click Actions > Hierarchy. A new window will open.

Click on the Parent box and search for the parent e.g. programme or another project (either type name or ID code), select the parent from the list.

The hierarchy group will then be displayed showing the project within the new hierarchy.

Remember

  • Always start at the lowest level of the hierarchy - attaching the child to a parent i.e. If the structure is portfolio, programme, project, first attach the project to the programme, then the programme to the portfolio.

View a hierarchy

  • Within a portfolio, programme or project record: Open the item you wish to view the hierarchy for and click Actions > Hierarchy.
  • From the stage table: Click on the hierarchy button against a portfolio, programme or project record.
  • From within a project table: Go to the desired project table e.g. Risks and click on Actions > Hierarchy. Then click on the downward arrow next to any of the projects within the hierarchy to see the table data.

Filter a hierarchy

Use the funnel to filter out any records you don't want to see in your hierarchy view i.e. Archived items.
