How to manage notifications

Notifications have been designed to help you stay focused on the things that matter, whilst stopping you from missing anything important or requiring action. To avoid notifications becoming a distraction, you can manage what you receive and when, allowing you to concentrate on tasks without unnecessary interruptions.

The following notifications are available to workspace users:

  • Invited to Join Workspace - user will be notified when they are added as a Workspace Member.
  • Added As Card Member - user will be notified when they are added to a card as a Card Member.
  • Card ‘Due Date’ Reminder - user will be notified when their card ‘due date’ is approaching. Note: the frequency of card notifications will depend on each card. See How to add and edit cards for more information on this.
  • User Added As - user will be notified when they are added as an owner or actionee against tasks/activities within a project. 

User level notifications 

User level notifications are accessed via User Profile > Preferences > Notifications. From here you can do the following:

  • Switch your own notifications on or off across the site. This is done by clicking on the toggle On/Off button (the default setting is On). 
  • View any individual Workspace notifications which have been switched off. To do this, expand the triangle against each notification to reveal the list.
  • Control how often a missed notification summary email is received (the default is once every hour). 
  • Choose the sound played when a notification is received whilst logged into Verto (default is none).

Workspace specific notifications 

Whilst in a Workspace, click Actions > Notifications. From here you can do the following:

  • Switch your notifications on or off for that workspace by clicking on the toggle button (default setting is On). Note: any notifications which have been switched off at the user level will be shown as OFF in the workspace notifications list. These can only be switched back on via the user profile.

Regardless of whether an alert tone has been set up or not, the bell icon will always “wobble” whenever a new notification arrives.

Missed notifications

If you are not logged into Verto, a summary email can be sent to your external email account detailing all missed notifications. This can be set to your preferred time interval e.g. immediately, hourly, daily.
