Sometimes in project management, a risk turns into an issue. When this happens, you can quickly create a new issue from your risk record.
Whilst viewing a risk, click on the Actions button and then select Create Issue.

A message will appear in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen confirming that a new issue has been created. To view the issue, navigate to the Issues section of your project.
The following data will transfer from the risk into the new issue:
Risk Fields |
Issue Fields |
Risk Title (ProjectRisks.Title) | Issue Title (ProjectIssues.Title) |
Risk (ProjectRisks.RiskID) | Issue Category (ProjectIssues.IssueRiskCategoryID) |
Risk Description (ProjectRisks.RiskDescription) | Issue Description (ProjectIssues.Description) |
Risk Action (ProjectRisks.RiskAction) | Issue Action (ProjectIssues.Action) |
Risk Current Controls (ProjectRisks.CurrentControls) | Issue Current Controls (ProjectIssues.CurrentControls) |
Risk Consequences (ProjectRisks.Consequences) | Issue Consequences (ProjectIssues.Consequences) |
Risk Owner (ProjectRiskOwners.ProjectRiskOwner) | Issue Owner (ProjectIssueOwners.ProjectIssueOwner) |
Note: the above list is subject to the specific configuration of your site build. If you are unsure, please speak with your Site Administrator.
Advice
- The risk will not automatically be closed. After creating your new issue you should update the risk to reflect its closure i.e. add a ‘date closed’.
