Top Tips
- If you are unable to see the Power BI report folder, click on ‘Home’ to navigate back to the main report area. From here you can then click into the required folder.
- ‘Verto’ will display as the author against the 10 standard reports. Reports published by other users will display their name as the author.
- If you try to view a report and see the following message, this is because the report model is being refreshed (the data is being refreshed). You will need to wait a few minutes and then try again:

Click on the Reports tab in the navigation menu at the top of the screen. Next, click on the ‘Power BI’ folder to see a list of all the available reports.
You will be presented with the following view:

Top Tips
- The graphs and charts on the standard reports are ‘clickable’ and act as a filter. Note: the risk matrices are not clickable - this is intentional and is a result of how the report filtering works.
- Click on a project title to filter the report and just see specific records from that project. Note: after clicking on a project title you will see a black line to the left indicating a filter is applied:

- Click on financial years to filter cost or savings data by that year. Click again to remove the filter.
- The unique IDs are those assigned by Verto.
- Click on the ‘3 dots’ against a table or graph/chart to reveal more options:

- Click on the header of a column to sort by ascending or descending.
To print the report simply click on ‘Print’ in the top right-hand corner and select either PowerPoint or PDF.
Report model refresh
The report model is automatically refreshed each night, meaning the data in the Power BI reports is typically one day old. If required, you can manually refresh the model to update the data. Any user can trigger a refresh, and in doing so updates the model for the entire site.
It is possible to refresh the model once every hour with each refresh taking a few minutes to complete. During a refresh, reports cannot be generated, and users will see a message notifying them that a refresh is in progress.
To refresh the model, click on the downward arrow against any Power BI report and click ‘Refresh’.

You will see the following image on screen whilst the model refreshes:

Once the refresh process is complete, the data in the model will be up-to-date and reports can once again be viewed.
Advice
- The labels/headers on the standard reports are pulled from the original database descriptions - not the client specific labels. These can be changed if needed i.e. amend ‘Key’ to ‘Project Critical’. The site configuration export file can be used to assist with matching database descriptions to your frontend descriptions. See How to export the site configuration for more information (System Administrators).
- The 10 standard reports all have a UserID filter built in. This means you will only ever see data you have permission to see.
- In the standard reports the project code and project title are stored in a separate table from related records such as the actions or risks. This is intentional. If all items were held in a single table, applying a filter would cause the project code and title to be repeated for every related record. For example, if a project had 10 risks, those 10 risks would be listed individually, with the same project code and title repeated on each row.
- Any user can trigger a report model refresh, and in doing so updates the model for the entire site. A refresh can only be instigated once an hour.
- It is not currently possible to export or print via the Verto Teams App. If you wish to print or export data please use Verto through your web browser.
