The following is a summary of the key enhancements which will be delivered in the third release (July) of 2026:
WCAG Updates
- As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), this release introduces a number of subtle yet important enhancements to the design of buttons and screen icons, helping to improve accessibility and usability across Verto.

Microsoft Planner (MS) Import & Integration
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new MS Planner import and integration features. Developed in response to client feedback, these enhancements will be available to all clients.
- MS Planner Import - Our new MS Planner import works in a similar way to the existing MS Project import and is designed to support a one-time import of project plans into Verto using an Excel (.xlsx) file. It provides a simple and efficient way to migrate plans from MS Planner (Premium) into Verto. This feature will be automatically available to all users within the Task and Milestone menu, alongside the existing MS Project import option. See How to import a MS Planner plan
- MS Planner Integration - The MS Planner integration allows users to import MS Planner (Basic) plans directly into Verto without the need to first create and upload an export file. Plans can be imported into Boards (Personal or Project) or into the Task & Milestone table as a simple Gantt chart. This feature provides a seamless, one-time import experience, making it quicker and easier to bring MS Planner plans into Verto. Please Note: enabling the MS Planner integration requires additional Single Sign-On (SSO) permissions. These permissions must be reviewed and accepted by an individual within your organisation who has the appropriate IT administrative rights before the integration can be activated. See How to import data from MS Planner (integration)
Gantt Enhancements
- Inline Gantt Editing - We've streamlined adding new items into the Gantt to help you build plans more efficiently. Simply navigate to the bottom of your existing plan, click into the cell, and begin typing. See Step 4: How to add tasks and milestones
- Indenting and Expand/Collapse Buttons - To make this functionality even easier to access, the indenting and expand/collapse buttons have now been added to the Gantt tool bar. This means you no longer have to be in scheduling mode to access them (although they are still there too!).
-
General -
- We're making task and milestone management even smoother! The option to delete tasks and milestones directly from the Gantt view (via the dropdown arrow on a record) is now available, reducing the number of clicks needed to complete the action.
- To help safeguard your project plan, when auto-scheduling is enabled, tasks and milestones with dependencies can now only be edited in scheduling mode. This gives you the opportunity to review and validate changes, understand their impact across the plan, and undo updates if needed before committing them.
Resource Enhancements
- Resource Request Summary Table - It is now possible to display allocated resources and user tag information on the Resource Request Summary table. Simply select the ‘Show in Summary’ option in the configuration to add these two fields as additional columns for enhanced visibility.
- Time Recording Against Resource Allocations - Users can now record the actual time spent against the time originally allocated through a resource request. Time can be logged directly from the User Profile (alongside the existing Timesheets functionality) or from within the project where the resource has been assigned. Please Note: this feature is not enabled by default and will need to be activated on a site-by-site basis. See How to record time against your project
- Cost Recording Against Resource Allocations - For clients using our new Time Recording feature, it's now possible to track the planned and actual costs of recorded time, powered by Rate Cards. See How to view resource related costs for your project
- Enhanced Demand Management Heat Map - The Resource Heat Map has been enhanced to provide a more complete view of resource demand. Pending resource allocations can now be viewed alongside approved allocations. Flexible filtering options allow users to switch between ‘allocated’ and ‘pending allocation’, with clear visual indicators helping to identify potential resource constraints before they occur. This feature will be available as standard within the resourcing area. See How to view a resource heatmap [Resource Manager, Tag Manager or Resource Administrator] or How to view allocated resources on your project
Change History Enhancement
- Users can now view change history records in either a timeline or table format. The new table view includes standard column filtering, enabling users to quickly refine and locate records using familiar filter controls within each column header. See How to view the change history
Free Text Field Enhancement (System Administrators)
- When adding or updating free text fields in your site build, you can now choose how a free text field displays to a user. Options include as a single-line text field, as a fixed on-screen text box, or as the traditional free-text pop-out editor. Character limits can be applied to all variations to help control data entry and ensure consistent field behaviour. See Step 3.1: How to edit a field.
Dashboards
- Dashboard Template Categories - We are pleased to announce that the known issue affecting the ability to add categories to dashboard templates has now been resolved. For a reminder on how to create dashboard categories see How to add dashboard template categories [For System Administrators].
